We offer all diabetic patients an annual review with our diabetic specialist nurse. Patients will be asked to attend for an appointment to cover all aspects of the diabetic review. During the appointment blood sugar, blood cholesterol readings, blood pressure, foot and eye care, along with kidney function will all be assessed.
Advice will also be given on diet, exercise, smoking and alcohol, also flu and pneumonia vaccinations will be offered.
If any follow up care is required, contact will be made by our specialist pharmacy team/Diabetic Nurse Lead to review medications and any outstanding aftercare.
Diabetic Retinopathy screening is offered annually by a mobile unit from the University Hospitals of Leicester.
